Congratulate on BarCamp Hanoi 2009’s great success

Yesterday (April 19th, 2009) was one of the most memorable tech events in Hanoi with BarCamp Hanoi 2009. It is considered as a festival for us to join, create and share ideas, to have chance meeting up together in person instead of online discussion. Yesterday 16 eXoers were ready to join and share with 2 interesting topics: “Enterprise 2.0″ by Brice and “OpenSocial Application Development” by Hoat with the support from Tung.

There were about 250 persons with 38 topics including Entrepreneurs Academy, Cryptology & Steganology,Marketing Law & Vietnam online market, Improving IT education in Vietnam, Enterprise 2.0, OpenSocial Application Development, Social Media in Vietnam, Social Media in Haiku’s way, Online Dating Service, etc.,

Yesterday the weather was really hot, especially at the lunch time. The BarCamp Hanoi 2009’s organization was quite good, everything was not out of control. Everyone seemed satisfied with the organization then.

Some people couldn’t attend but they could know all the session talks from live schedule and twitter channel with #barcamphanoi hash tag.

BarCamp Hanoi 2 (2009) will be held on April 19th, 2009 at RMIT International University, Hanoi Campus.

BarCamp Hanoi 1 was successfully organized in eXo Platform SEA offices in 2007 and eXo is now proud to be one of the first sponsor for this 2nd BarCamp in Hanoi. The eXo guys are looking forward to meeting people interested about IT in Vietnam as well as the Open Source world where eXo stands as an influent innovator.

BarCamp is an international network of user generated conferences — open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants. This is a chance for many people (CEO, CTO, developers, etc.,) to share ideas and talk about anything they like, but mostly in the information technology area: web 2.0, collaboration, web services, tech trends, products promotion, etc.,

Apéro Plone spécial eXo Platform

Pilot Systems vous convie à un Apéro Plone spécial eXo Platform.

eXo Platform est un éditeur de logiciels collaboratifs Open Source avec lequel Pilot Systems vient de nouer un partenariat. Afin de vous présenter l’orientation que représente ce partenariat, nous vous proposons de vous faire découvrir eXo Platform autour des thèmes suivants :

Atelier découverte eXo/Plone : cet atelier donnera la possibilité à chaque participant d’appréhender Plone et eXo en fonction de son niveau de connaissance et permettra de “préparer le terrain” pour le thème du point suivant.
Comment gérer l’intégration d’un projet Plone/eXo : retour sur les spécificités liées à chaque projet et les contraintes qu’ils peuvent comprendre par rapport à leur environnement technique.
eXo, serveur de gadget : nous reviendrons sur les vastes possibiltés que représente eXo pour intégrer des services REST et des Gadgets Google pour des applications Plone. Python/Plone pourra également être utilisé comme fournisseur de services Open Social, une intégration complémentaire à eXo Social, produit visant à fournir des réseaux sociaux pour entreprises.

openSocial Hackathon in Hanoi

After the success of the openSocial tour with google, we are organizing with Jason from WebPal the first openSocial Hachathon in Hanoi the Saturday December 13th, 2008.

We are organizing it to help developers to use this new standard and to prepare them to the openSocial gadget contest where there are many prizes to win. It will be also the occasion for Vietnamese social networks to discover this standard.
It will be a slightly different organization from the google devfest since we will give more time to hacking, less to talk.

• 10:30AM – 11:00AM : Registration
• 11:00AM – 12:00PM : openSocial Presentation
• 12:00PM – 1:00PM : brainstorming + pizza
• 1:00PM – 5:00PM : Coding your openSocial applications
• 1:00PM – 2:00PM : guided walkthrough a first openSocial gadget
• 5:00PM – 6:00PM : presentation of what have been done in the afternoon

We’ll provide space, power, and refreshments. You just need to bring your own laptop, javascript skills, ideas and enthusiasm to complete the mix. There is only 50 seats available, so register soon.
Also after having organized the first Barcamp in Hanoi in 2007, we are also working on the preparation of the Barcamp2 in Hanoi with Ninh. This one will be organized next year. Stay tuned…

Update: Vinny is organizing a Hackathon at the same time in Singapore in google office, and Pamela is organizing one in google’s office in Sydney. That will be fun to run them simultanously. I hope we will be able to exchange and work with the other events.
